I am trying to network 2 windows 2000 machines with my
new XP machine. The XP machine is the network host and
connects out to the internet.
I've tried the home networking wizard, assigning IP
addresses, and nothing seems to work.
Any idea other than upgrading my 2000 machines to XP?

Thanks

I am having a similar problem with 2 XP computers and an
ME computer. They networked just fine, till the last
round of XP updates, and now only the XP computers will
network. The ME computer attempts to connect but fails.
I have spent countless hours trying, unsuccessfully to get
the network back to where it was.

Configure the 2000 machines to obtain an IP address automatically, and
set their workgroup name to MSHOME.

This doesn't work. The result of this attempt is that my
XP machine can see the others, but the 2K machines cannot
see the Internet or the XP machines.

If you've previously enabled Internet Connection Sharing on XP,
disable it and start over.

Set up XP as an Internet Connection Sharing host and the 2000 machines
as Internet Connection Sharing clients, as shown here:
