I cannot get the Home networking wizard to run. I deleted
a network bridge that had been set up between my NIC and
my 1392 adaptor. The most obvious think that i've noticed
is that my 1392 adaptor is no longer showing up in my
network devices folder. Any thoughts.

imho deleting the bridge shouldn't harm anything, I delete and recreate mine
often with no problems.
I wouldn't know why your firewire connection should disappear. Is it still
present in device manager?
What happens when you try to run the networking wizrard?

I have the same problem. Networking wizard will not run.
Additionally my DSL dial up icons do not appear
under "network connections" subsequently because of this I
cannot configure ICS on the dsl connection icon b/c it is
no longer visable. It still exists however since I can't
recreate one with the same name. I am only able to access
my dsl connection via a desktop shortcut I had created
previously. I started noticing this after installing the
directx 9.0b runtime from the "Call of Duty" video game.
This has also occurred to a friend of mine with identical
symptoms.

This problem seems to be common on this newsgroup. I dont know the answers
but I did a google with the filter "xp dialup connections missing microsoft"

One interesting response was from Kelly of Kellys Corner who suggests making
sure that the appropriate services are running
(access via administrative tools) and he also gave a link to a microsoft
fix.
Have a good look at this link, please let me know if this fixes things
because people rarely let you know how it went!

Thanks for the tip, unfortunatly it did not work. Another
thing that I noticed was that it stoped working after the
latest XP update.

First make sure that your Network Connections Service and Remote Access
Connection Manager services are running. If they are then compare the LAN
connections in the connections folder with the Network Adapter drivers in
device manager. If there is a Network Adapter driver that doesn't have a
corresponding connection in the connections folder then try reinstalling it.
