Hi, I seem to be having Firewall trouble when I send to
XP via PCMacLan 'Appletalk'. My LAN ,ethernet, connection
is entirely valid and is ok for some file types eg..txt,
and is ok to send any file type from XP to Mac ,but even
with '.pdf' (I wish to transfer 'AIFF') there is a 'slow
down' to one packet / 20sec, with a said speed of 100Mbs,
when I try to drop into the XP 'C drive' on my Mac OS
desktop. I can make new folders in this 'C drive' and
rename them from the MacOS,so I assume I'm ok, and I do
not get any 'error' dialogue boxes of any kind, there is
just a complete 'slow down' rather than a 'block'.
I have heard that XP reverts to 'default' on
recognizing an incoming Mac file and then puts up the
built in firewall, eventhough the 'User' is ok.
Can anybody advise on disabling the firewall in Bill's
default settings ?

Yours,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Which Mac OS version are you running?
