To connect them through a phone line, get a pair of Home Phoneline
(HPNA) networking adapters. Make sure that they have driver programs
for both Windows XP and Windows 98. Install them according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
The one on the Windows XP computer will say "A network cable is
unplugged" if the Windows 98 computer and its phoneline adapter aren't
up and running.
Run the Network Setup Wizard on both computers to make the necessary
network software settings:
