Networking with Windows/95

I'm trying to get a windows/xp laptop to work with my
windows/95 desktop to utilize the attached printer. I'm
connecting these two through a Linksys cable modem
router. Bothare setup with the same work group, yet they
don't know about each other and the windows/xp laptop
can't access the work group i defined it to. I've paged
through the help text and am getting nowhere. how do I
link these two systems together to share the resources?

Bob,
It seems that you and I are having the same problems. I
am trying to network XP to 95b on two desktops with little
success. I have posted on the Windows 95 Group and will
gladly share any info I acquire. It has been suggested
that XP and 95 are not compatible for network and that
upgrade 95 to 98 might do the trick. I'm hoping that is
NOT the case.

Go to the Windows 95 Newsgroup, Networking and
find "setting up Home Metwork with win xp" posted by John
on Aug 4 2003 @ 11:24 pm. Read through all of the
replies. I am not home but when I get there, I intend to
use this info to attempt to resolve my issues.
