I have a network that consists of two machine running
Windows XP and 2000. I need help with this. I have a
firewall that I need to configure, the only problem is
that each PC get's assigned an ip address automatically
with DHCP. How do I know what range of ip addresses the
machines get's assigned? If I was to configure this
firewall, how would I do it for a range?

Any ideas?

What device on your network (broadband router, ICS host, other?) is
acting as a DHCP server?

It isn't possible to configure XP's built-in Internet Connection
Firewall to allow access by a range of IP addresses. You must disable
the Internet Connection Firewall on a local area network connection.
It's for use only on a direct modem connection to the Internet.

If you have a different firewall program, check the documentation on
the manufacturer's web site.

If your using a fully fledged firewall and not XPs they do let you specify
ranges or entire subnets to trust.
