Where can I find a resource that will tell me how to set
up a home network with one computer running XP and the
other running Windows 2000? The Network Wizard that comes
with XP cannot be used on a 2000 PC.

Thanks

It would be better if the XP is ther internet server. Use
the wizard to set it up then have the 2000 pc getting its
IP address automatically. Make sure the XP is using an
address of 192.168.0.1 Cheers

I'm having the same problems and can't seem to get any connectivity.

I have 4 pcs. One XP box with a DSL gateway (ip 192.168.0.1), another XP box
and linux box that can communicate with the gateway and are able to share
files etc successfully. I also have a Win2k laptop and have tried just about
everything to get it connected to the XP workgroup (both static and assigned
ips), but whatever I try I can't even get a successful ping between the W2k
laptop and any of the boxes (in either direction).

Is there anywhere that explains this issue in detail, giving the reasons for
these problems and the solutions possible, a step by step guide would be v.
helpful. Am at my wit's end, any help would be greatly appreciated.
