Does anyone have a step by step instruction to connecting
a computer that runs Windows XP to a computer that runs
Windows 98? I am not getting any help out of Dell's tech
support nor Microsoft's website.

Thanks

It's really pretty simple: connect your Ethernet cards with the crossover
cable; connect to the internet with the host (XP) machine; turn on the 98
computer; run the Network Setup Wizard on the XP machine (go to
Start/Connect To/Show All Connections); In the left pane click on Setup a
Home or Small Office Network; Follow the instructions; (Make sure that you
use the exact same Workgroup name on each computer). At the end, create a
floppy disk to setup the network on the 98 machine, then follow the
instructions to run it there.

Good luck!
