Networking - Unable to ping self (XP Service Pack2)

After running Disk Cleanup and Compression (to recover disk space), I can no
longer ping my own computer on Wired (100BaseT) or Wireless (Netgear MA111)
port. However, it does seem to work if I ping 127.0.0.1.

I tried loading "WinPcap_2_3_nogui" that used to work before the "Disk
Clearnup" and it no longer loads the driver - verified using "sysinfo32".

Questions:
1. Is it caused by the disk Compression?
2. Is it possible to reverse the Compression part of the Disk Cleanup utility?

Thanks.
Hari

I have simplified the setup (only one connection) and added the ipconfig /all
along with ping results.

C:\>ipconfig /all
