Alex

I have a small with 9 Pc's. 5 of them are running xp
professional, 2 millenium, 1 xphome, and 1 2000 server.
All computers are in the same workgroup. The server is
running as a workstation right now until a full upgrade of
OS to all computers. My problem is that all computers in
the work group can see each other and connect accept the
one computer running XP Home. I made sure it is the right
workgroup, Netbios is running, computer browser service is
running, and the tcp/ip netbios helper is running. This
is the only computer I am having problems with. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Need more info like what are the ip addresses of the home
and server? what is the subnet mask.

Specifically what is the XP Home computer able to do? Can
you see the other computers in Network neighborhood, but
cannot supply a password to other computers?

This is my problem. I have XP home, Me and 98 computers
connected to a router. they all show up in workgroup,
but I need a password to get from the XP to the files on
the Me. I dont know where to turn off this prompt. I
never had this problem until I loaded Norton Internet
Security.

hi all, i have the same problem...residential gateway (linksys router) for public ip and 3-pc-lan with xp prof, xp home & win98se...all are in the same workgroup, all have specified lan-ip, all can access the internet, but each of them can only see itself in neighborhood...ping 192.168.1.xx from pc2pc runs but not with ping pcnam

that lan-inconnectivity happened after changing from win98 to x
