Networking Suggestions

Steven

I have multiple multicast video sources on a closed network
that the client would now like to have the video available on
their webpage as well.

Anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this? Do I need
to write something that consumes the multicast range then
forwards it out to the internet to get unicast?

(I know this isn't the perfect place to post a networking question,
but a.) I couldn't find a better newsgroup, and b.) if I have to write
something a little guidance in that direction woul be great too.)

Thanks!

If you're concerned about the troll police repost your RFI to
news://microsoft.public.dotnet.general where you are just as likely to get
slimed but "general" means what it means so f-em'

There's likely some specific answers to your concerns through iis.net/media
re: the IIS Streaming Media Services. I tried to learn more from your
webpage. I'm interested in how you've done multicasting...

It's a hardened video encoder. We're an integration company,
so we work with lots of technologies and make them work
together.

Internally theMPEG4 video has an activex control that streams it,
or their is also a hardened decoder to conver the signal back to
analog, so the end answer is, in this case it's not mine.

However, I can create a UdpClient and join the multicast group
and receivefrom it and receive data, so I'm able to get the data
IF I need to retransmit it, but I was also wondering if there was
a networking solution to convert the multicast data they're already
using into something that can be seen externally.

I'll look at IIS Media Services.
