I have a QuickBooks program that needs to access data in
the 'program files' of a computer running XP Home. It
won't allow me to do this over our network at our small
office. Will XP Professional allow me to access 'program
files'? Thanks!

Yes, XP Professional will let you share 'program files' if you disable
"simple file sharing". But you don't need XP Professional to do what
you want.

Although XP Home doesn't allow sharing the 'program files' folder, it
should let you share the QuickBooks folder within 'program files' and
access it from another computer.
