I have a peer to peer network with XP Pro. The problem
is that both machines see each other in My Network Places
but cannot access one another. I have checked everything
obvious so I am looking for suggestions.

I'm not certain about this, but it's a suggestion:
Do both PC's have a common username and password ?
You want to log on from machine A to B, you will have to
use the username and password from machine B...
It's easy to solve if you create a sepcific user account
on both machines with the same password...
That did it for me some time ago....
Hope it helps !

What error are you seeing and how are you getting to the error (what steps
did you take)

Try running Network connection Wizard again. Also from a
msdos prompt type....... net user guest and enter
somewhere in the following text should read Account
active/ yes

I am experiencing the exact same problem. Here is the
error message that I am seeing

\\computer b is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.

The network path was not found

The funny thing is that both computers are visible on the
network from both stations. I can access computer A from
Computer B but get the error message above when I try to
access computer b from computer a.

Any help on this would be appreciated. emails welcome
