Networking problem

I am trying to get a computer on our network, but it won't connect. I give it a name and our domain and it doesn't accept it. I went to the LAN connection and it is sending and receiving. I clicked on the support tab and it read an IP address that is not on our network. I tried rebooting (even in Safe mode with networking) and it won't pick up an IP address from our network. Any ideas???? Thanks guys!!!!
 
Make sure you NIC is installed correctly and that your network line is live.
 
I believe that everything is installed right and the line is live. I can manually give it an IP address on our network and it will access the network, but when I ask it to automatically look for an IP address, it picks an IP address that is not a part of our network.
