Hi everyone!
I have 2 machines networked together using a D-LINK 10/100 card etc.;
one running XP-Pro with a 56 kbps modem and another machine running
Linux Mandrake 9.0 with no modem.
From the Linux machine, as a client, I can access the Internet, no
problems, via the XP machine and I can even see some folders on my
Window and copy them and save them etc., but I just cannot see either
the Linux machine or even MYSELF from the Win side.
When I click on the "My Network Place" icon on the Desktop I get the
following message after about 30 secs.:
"MsHome is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently availaible"
When I go into Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administration tools and I
go through Computer Management and Local Security Policy and set things
the way I think they should be I get the same message even after
retarting the machine.
As I said I can get in via the other 'puter no problems.
Any clues?
