I have two computers that i am trying to network. they
both have the same user names, with same user levels (one
member is adminstrative/remote desktop users, one is
power user/remote desktop users), same password, and same
operateing syste (XP pro).

Computer one (laptop) can logon to computer two (desktop)
with correct user names and access all resourse at the
correct user level.

Computer two when connecting to computer one only allows
guest as the user that can logon.

Guest accounts are off on both computers.

I have tryed to correct the problem, but i am at a lost
to why they are not working out the same.

It sounds like Computer One has simple file sharing turned on, which means
the Guest account is the only account that can be used for file sharing. To
turn it off:

Open up My Computer
Go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options
Click on the View tab
Scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see the "Use Simple File
Sharing (recommended)" checkbox. Uncheck it and click OK all the way out.

You can also check out the following KB article if you need more detailed
instructions. Look for the "Enabling and Disabling Simple File Sharing"
section:
