Luke

I just reformatted and installed Windows XP on an old
Dell T450, and now I can't get it back into the network.
The computer used to connect to the home (broadband)
network through a 56k phone modem in Windows 98, but now
I cannot figure out how that was accomplished.

There are three total computers on this network. The base
computer is running WinME with two network cards and a
hub. The others have WinXP and are obviously connected
via the hub. The problem is getting the network wizard to
recognize that the phone modem can be used as a network
adapter. Any suggestions?

What make and model of phone modem do you have that can be used as a
network adapter? I'm not familiar with any. You'd need to install
Windows XP drivers for that device.

There are home phoneline network adapters, like the Netgear PA101 and
Linksys HPN200. They're not modems, but they let you make a network
connection over a phone line.
