Networking Nightmare

Hi was wondering if anyone could help me urgently i have just had btyahoo broadband installed on my pc and im having trouble networking it to my laptop via a laptop adaptor, i insert the disk and it says i need ie 5.5 or higher, so i go to the microsoft site to download ie6 and it says newer version installed already installed:? can anyone tell me what seems to be the prob

my laptop is an advent and i am running XP2

any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

if all else fails and u need another web browser get Netscape Navigator!

thats definetly 2nd best for me:)
 
you already have Ie6 installed, so you dont need to download anything
 
Does the installer stop functioning if you don't have IE 5.5?? It's more than likely just a warning rather than a requirement. As you have IE6.. you should be ok to carry on :)
 
Shorty is correct ... It's just an "information message" to draw your attention. Just carry on.
