Networking Nightmare

Hi was wondering if anyone could help me urgently i have just had btyahoo broadband installed on my pc and im having trouble networking it to my laptop via a laptop adaptor, i insert the disk and it says i need ie 5.5 or higher, so i go to the microsoft site to download ie6 and it says newer version installed already installed:? can anyone tell me what seems to be the prob

my laptop is an advent and i am running XP2

any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

if all else fails and u need another web browser get Netscape Navigator!

you already have Ie6 installed, so you dont need to download anything

Does the installer stop functioning if you don't have IE 5.5?? It's more than likely just a warning rather than a requirement. As you have IE6.. you should be ok to carry on
