| | Im having a problem with my lan. I ran the "setup a home or small
| office network" wizard on all computers and all work fine except the
| main one that I use. When I go to see workgroup computers, or if I
| try to access the other computers shared folders I get this error:
|
| "MSHOME is not accessible. You might not have permission to access
| this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to
| find out if you have access permissions. Incorrect functions."
| Anyone have a clue as to how to fix it?
Try using the "Home and Small Office Networking Troubleshooter". It
has some excellent advice such as: check for unique computer names and
a shared workgroup name; use the Ping command to test basic
connectivity; check your hub if you are using one; determine whether
or not you have the necessary network components installed, etc..
Additionally, the troubleshooter can investigate settings if you
select the option. To investigate settings start the "Home and Small
Office Networking Troubleshooter", select "I'm having problems sharing
files or printers", then select "I can't connect to a specific
computer on the network" and on that page make certain that the option
"I want the troubleshooter to investigate settings on this computer."
is selected.
And if the troubleshooter does not help try reviewing the following
archived newsgroup posts (only a few on the subject include the unique
error message "Incorrect Function"):
Google Groups Advanced Search:
"Incorrect function" "permission to use this network resource"
http://www.google.com/groups?group:...on"+"permission+to+use+this+network+resource%
And if you are still having problems you may want to try posting your
question in the newsgroup:
