Networking between Windows Xp Home Ed and Windows 200

I am trying to set up a home network between a PC with
Windows XP Home Ed and my laptop with Windows 2000. They
don't seem to be compatible and the message suggest to
manually configure the setup. I haven't found the
information on the website yet on how to do this. Any
help out there?
