I have tried everything. I set the IP addresses to what microsoft said, and
it keeps changing back thats one problem, then the other is that when i ping
they dont talk it just times out. The little computers on my task bar say
connected but i cant see each pc from the other. Using the network wizard on
xp is no luck either because the disk it has me make is no good on 2000.
Please give me more ideas! Ive been working on this for about 36 hours
straight and im out of ideas as well as websites to help.

when i run IPCONFIG, the box pops up and then disappears immediately on both
systems. I cant make that work. I dont know what DHCP is. I am trying to
run a workgroup. and the troubleshooting didnt work.

Oh when i ping, I get timed out messege, but when i loopback ping i get 100%
back on both pcs.
