Create an account on the 98 computer to match an existing

Wired network, after full shares, the 2000 machince can

When attemping to access '00 machine, it ask for a network
password. I have't set u pa password anywhere, so there
must be a generic password and I can't find it anywhere?

Create an account on both computers with an identical
username/password.
Log into the win98 computer using that username/password.

When you start up your win98 machine a logon box should come up, just put
the username and password that you use on your win2000 computer. If there
isn't a logon box at startup on the win98, goto properties of the network
connection and make sure the Logon is set to Microsoft Client (there is a
drop down).
Also on a private home network (not exposed to the internet) you could
give the Everyone Group full control on the share, on the win2000 machine
and it won't ask for a username and password.
