I've written a web site that should help you solve the problem:

Windows XP Network Troubleshooting
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/troubleshoot

Please pay particular attention to these sections:

1. Firewalls: Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection
Firewall on local area network connections -- it's for use only on a
direct modem connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all
other firewalls while troubleshooting.

2. Protocols: Use only one for File and Printer Sharing. If the
network needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing
from all but one of them.

3. NetBIOS over TCP/IP: Make sure that it's enabled on all computers.

Nothing on there helped either.. Let me attempt to provide
more info on this... Both computers CAN connect to each
other via IP address and Name (ex: \\Family) however when
I attempt to view \\Family's computer inside of my
workgroup folder (My Network Places\Entire network\MS win
network\Workgroup) it gives me the error message "\\Family
is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource."... As you can see this provides
very little info. How can I set/remove permissions? Both
computers have NetBIOS setup correctly and are using the
same exact login/password and as far as I know I set them
both up exactly the same way...

Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated
