Every time I shut down my computer and boot up, I lose my connection to the
internet. I have to go to my network and fix the problem manually. I have
been told that my registrar is corrupted and that I need to reinstall Vista.
Is there an easier way to fix the problem instead of doing this?
Any help would be appreciated.

IBarbara,

doubt is you really need to re-install Vista, but you may have a corrupted
NIC Driver that is causing this.. First thing I would do is to check with
the manufacturer and see if they have developed an updated Driver for this
system.. If it was a custom built system, then use the Device Manager to
find out the brand of NIC and check that site for new Vista Drivers..

Also, on the NIC's properties sheet in Device Manager, you might try
unchecking the "Allow computer to turn off device.." under Power Mgmt. tab to
insure it is on at all times..
