I am running XP Pro on 2 machines. Have changed from Hub
to Linksys router. Never have any internet connection
problems, but can't see any network connections between 2
machines. The names are different and I have gotten
the "welcome to MSHOME worgroup message". When i click
the network connections I cannot see the other computer,
or any info on either computers own system. Neither
computer "sees itself. It is just a blank screen.
What am I doing wrong?

i now have progressed to having one comuter recognizing
its MSHOME worgroup and recognizing itself. The other
computer is now able to move to the view workgroup and
will show MSHOME as a workgroup but notheing for itself
of the other computer. Internet works as usual, perfect!
Any Suggestions?

These tips should help you get everything working:

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

Windows XP Network Protocols

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.

Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (NetBT)
