Network xp pro and nt

depends on wheather u have the Nt machine set up as a
domain or not
if not all u have to do is specify the same workgroup for
both machines ie.. mshome

Well I don't think a USB or Wireless connection is going to be a workable
solution.
I'm leaning toward Ethernet as the most likely network media.
Best to have an Ethernet adapter properly installed in both computers.
Then you could go with an Ethernet crossover cable connecting both of those
Network Interface Cards as the most simplified cabling answer.
Or you could get a powered Hub or Switch and have two straight-through
Ethernet
cables both connecting the two computers to that powered Hub or Switch.
Or you could get a Router and connect both of the computers to that Router
each with a straight-through Ethernet cable.
Then you will need to have both computers set to have a unique Computer name
and the same Workgroup name and depending on which cabling / network device
configuration you will need to decide on whether to use Automatic or Static
IP
Addressing (we are going with TCP/IP right?).
