Network Wide Windows Updates?

A

Andrew

Hello,

Is there a program that I can install on a server that
will push critical updates and patches out to all other
systems on the network when they come available?

It's very difficult to keep all these systems up to date
manullay. I have a mixed network of Windows XP, 2000, and
NT 4.0.

Any ideas? Thanks.

SOFTWARE UPDATE SERVICES!

It installs on a domain controller in the AD netowork.
Downloads the updates automatically. You approve them the
next day.

Need to implement some group policy settings for this
application to work properly, but it is all in the
documentation.

Correct. And I would not suggest installing it on a domain controller.
BTW, there is a NG dedicated to Software Update Services.
Another option for pushing updates is Shavlick's HfNetChk Pro ... and it
does do NT4.(www.shavlick.com)
