Can I set up network of two computers with Windows Server 2008 and Windows
Vista Home Basic with FireWire? How both systems will detect connection of
two computers with FireWire cable? Does that connection make possible file
exchange?

Hi
Firewire is Not really a Network medium and thus there are Not Network
devices available for it.
You can set two close by computers for direct connect (kind of a substitute
for crossover connection), but that is as far as it can go.
So if you are talking about Only two computers you can try.

I have computer with Intel Desktop Board DP965LT and Microsoft Windows Server
2008 System. FireWire is registered in Device Manager as Texas Instruments
OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller. I would like to purchase Fujitsu
Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V6505
(http://docs.fujitsu-siemens.com/dl.aspx?id=f45b3d14-162a-4c0b-ab78-be98cfbd0fd9)
with FireWire and Microsoft Vista Home Basic system. Will I connect it with
FireWire cable and send files from one computer to another? How systems will
detect connection?

Forget the Firewire and use Ethernet like you are supposed to.
