Before the days of different user profiles on the PC like
you have with XP and 2000, I understood that you create a
network user on the server, and log on to the "network"
from a PC with that username. Now, you can log on to the
PC as a user on that PC that may or may not be a user on
the network.... If I sign on to the PC as a "new" user,
does it add that user to the network list of users?
I am completely lost in all of this. (obviously) How do I
distinguish users/accounts between the 2? If I have a user
account on an XP machine that works on a 2000 server, and
that user needs to be replaced, how do I do that without
having to reinstall all the apps for the new user since
they were under the old user's profile?
Can someone point me to an on-line tutorial or even a good
book that can help me understand this relationship?
