network slow in one direction

I have a Windows 2003 standard server and Windows 2000 workstations. When I
copy files to the server, it can take 5 minutes for 50 Meg. When I copy
files from the server, it takes only a few seconds. I've tired setting the
NIC to half duplex since hubs can only do that. No good. It does not affect
all machines. I notice this more on some Dell laptops. I've tried an updated
NIC driver and a couple settings, but no dice.

I've read about some issues speed with windows and networking. Some NIC card
drivers are not great either. It is a shame. It's 2004, not 1994.

Enough ranting, Any ideas?

I'm currently facing a similar situation. My problem isn't with copying
files to the server...it copy files from the server. Did you happen to get
this issue resolved?
