network sharing on direct cable connection

How could we share the network connection on direct cale
connection?One pc is now connected to network and
internet.The other one will be connected to 1st pc and
must be seen as a different pc on the network using a
differen ip

Please define direct cable connection. Printer cable? Ehternet Cable? USB
Cable? Firewire cable? Serial cable?

With any of the above you need to run the Network Setup Wizard.
