Hi all

I am not any expert with win2000 and i am trying to setup a home network
with some requirements, i have no idea where to start so i am trying to get
some answers here, thx in advance.

Home Network, 1 Win2k AS, 3 WinXP , 1 Hub, 1 Cable Modem ( internet going to
server)

This is what i would like the network to be:
-WS ( winxp ) cannot login locally, need to have a account on server to
logon .
-Personal setting all stored in server HDD, no matter which WS they logon
they will still have all their personal setting, my doc, at the WS they use.
- All applications will be installed by admin ONLY and user logon XP have no
access to HDD but they will be able to run applications installed locally.

well to sum it up easily i want those people using the workstations can't
change, add anything to local HDD, be able to run applications that i have
installed only, they can't install anything, and no matter which computer
they login they still have thier own files ( my doc) have that on the
compter they logon.

Any suggestions are appericate.

P.S. sorry for cross post since i don't know which newsgroup this post
should belong to.

This could all be done through group policy - I would suggest installing
the resource kit and there is documentation on each of the group policies.
The first one would be the log on locally permission and that could be set
at a OU. The suggestion would be to create an OU for the users and
computers and apply your policies there.

I hope that helps get you started.
