I use the network setup wizard to try to get my two
computers to share files, but the wizard always selects
the 1394 connection, which is not connected to anything
right now, for the network connection. It correctly
selects the lan for the internet connection. My lan
setup is that both computers are connected to a router.
The router is then connected to a dsl router. Both
computers can get to the internet okay. Neither computer
can find the other.

Jon, I disable to 1394 Bus Host Controller in device manager because I do
not use it either. I will not appear after you disable it. cheers.

i hate to type ...i can help via telephone too. e me at
(e-mail address removed). Are you bridging the dsl modem to your router? Also
UPNP enabled on router? Then set up connection in "New Connection
Wizard"...choose "gateway connection".

I tried disabling 1394 in "network connections", not
device manager, but it still showed up in the wizard.
Should that make a difference?
