everytime I try to run network setup, it freezes when I select my type of
network (connect through hub, other computers also connect through hub). I
select this option, click next, and get the endless hourglass. Any help
please.

Does your network use a broadband router to give Internet access to
your computers? If so, the right connection method in the Network
Setup Wizard is "This computer connects to the Internet through a
residential gateway or through another computer on my network." A
setup using a hub would be unusual.

I don't know why the Network Setup Wizard sometimes freezes up.
Fortunately, you don't have to use the Wizard -- you can make the
network settings manually. In fact, the default Windows XP network
settings should work fine for network access through a broadband
router. All you might need to do is configure any firewall program to
allow access by other computers on the local area network.
