As a computer tech who used to work in a school environment I hunted high
and low and couldn't find any scanners other than "high end" (i.e.
expensive) models which were network capable. Its now a couple of years
since I had that job so things may have changed but just why the scanner
companies didn't release "Network capable" upgrade software for the cheaper
scanners was beyond me. The last thing you want to put in a classroom of
enthusiastic teenagers is a very expensive scanner when a much cheaper
version would otherwise do the job nicely.
