Network saturation

Can anyone suggestion how I can identify where network saturation is coming
from on a W2K SBS network with 2 servers and approx 45 workstations? Our
internet connection is shocking at times and slowing down productivity. Our
ISP has advised that something is saturating the network at a rate of
225,000bbs.

Any suggestions on how I can identify where the problem is? Is it wise to
assume this could be spyware/adware related?

I'm also considering a switch to gigabit switches, do you think this would
help with speed issues on the network?

Feedback and suggestions are most welcome.

That would be number 2 and 3. The first thought would be a virus infecting
the computers on your LAN "phoning home"

Download ethereal

http://www.ethereal.com/

Install on a machine and plug it into the same switch your internet
connection is plugged into, run a packet capture and this should show you
what data machines are sending and receiving on that network segment.

Hope this helps.
