Is there anybody out there familiar with Access Restrictions in a Linksys
Router?

I have already posted in the networking and router groups but they just put
down my product instead of helping, and I always get good help here. so...
I am having trouble with the Access Restrictions. in a Linksys WRT54G. I can
set "Deny" internet
access to my kids pc fine, but the "allow" feature seems useless(?) I got a
hold of the Linksys tech in chat,

I said "I try to allow access for example, 2 hours, but when the
time is over access is still allowed.

They replied "That's because by default all pc's have access 24-7, you must
first create a profile denying access for 24-7, then another profile
allowing access for your desired time frame"...

when I try that they conflict(?) and access is denied, but not the allow
profile for
desired time frame. I have asked their tech twice, but you know how that
goes...
the instructions say "you can set internet profiles such as allowing access
for a certain time frame, or..."

Most procedures for restricting access to specified days and times only
check when the person first attempts to access the device. They do not
check later to see if the access is still allowed. If the person
disconnects and then attempts to access it outside the time frame
allowed they will not be allowed access. This is probably the same way
that Linksys implemented the access restrictions.
