I worked on configuring a VPN connection to our office
with a user's laptop. This user will need to access our
Win 2000 file server remotely, and locally when she is in
the office. It worked fine yesterday testing over a
dialup line at our office. She was then able to
disconnect the phone-line test and use all of our network
resources normally yesterday.
However, since using her laptop at home last night this
user can now no longer see our Win 2000 server when she
is on the local LAN and not connected to the VPN. She
gets this error when trying to access the User share on
this server:
\\192.168.##.##\User is not accessible. You might not
have permission to use the network resource. Contact the
admin of the server to find out if you have access
permissions. The user name could not be found.
