I am running W2K Pro SP3. Internet is sourced through a local network
computer running Win XP Pro with shared ISDN connection. Network is standard
Netbeui/TCP/IP. 100Mbps network cat 5. Other computers on the network
running and accessing the ISDN shared internet connection fine.
This computer's access to the internet (through the network) stopped working
properly about 3 weeks ago.
Here are some observations:
MS Outlook, Netscape Internet both work fine.
Internet Explorer locks up and won't open.
MSN Messenger opens but won't login.
Start / Settings / Network and Internet connections (locks up and won't
display)
Services in MMC will open, but services do not start and stop properly. They
show the progress bar and report an error after a couple minutes for any
service.
Taskbar locks up after trying to open the network connections box.
It seems to be related to the network protocols somehow, but I don't know
