Should you be able to see both pcs that are networked
together when you open the network places? I can see both
on my 98 machine but only the 98 machine on the XP
machine? Does XP operate differently than 98 because when
I had both machines on 98 they would display each pc.

I have tried everhting I know but can't get the XP machine
to show itself in the network place. Is this normal under
XP?

Thanks from clueless

Under "My Network places": no. Open Entire Network > Microsoft Windows
Network > {workgroup_name} and you should find all remote PCs listed
here. If you now open "My network places" again, you can drag the
computers from the other Explorer window and drop it here to create
shortcuts, so that you can access the computers from the top-level in
future,

Thanks for the help - I did that and I renamed them and
they changed into folder icons and said this computer
instead of the computers name. Is this the way it should
work?

Thanks Again

No. It works well here, but I did not rename the items here.
