Have a multihomed Win 2K PDC server that has been acting a
little flakey as of late. After a shutdown and restart and
after replacing a presumed bad NIC, we cannot open the
properties of My Network (Network neighborhod) or by going
to to Run-Settings-Network and Dial-up Connections.
Nothing opens! No viruses, but Norton AV corporate edition
is not running either. Had the icons showing is system
tray when the NICs are connected but that is not showing
up either, but the networks and connectivity to the server
are OK on the two remaining NICs/LANs.
We restored the registry from a known good back-up as well
as the entire active directory (System State) and same
thing. DId a quick repair via the Win 2K Server CD Rom.
Still, bad stuff.
Does this call for a format and reinstall of Win 2K?
Thanks for any thoughts and help!
