In Dec 2003 we upgraded our
domain server from NT4.0 to Win 2K. Since we upgraded the server we have
sporadic problems with the network. Our IP address of our domain server is
(NCR_SERVER) 192.168.0.10 but sometimes what happens when we ping NCR_SERVER
from a Client XP PC we get IP Address 192.168.0.190 -this
IP address is appearing in Forward Zones in DNS on W2K
Server - I have deleted this address but it reappears again
after a few days. The only solution to this on the Client
xp PC is log off and

When we ping .190 address it is coming up with the PPP RAS
Adapter Server - but we can't find where this address is in
situ to try and delete it.

Does your server have two NICs? Is your DC doing RAS (not recommended)?

Lanwench, I totally agree not recommended...

Here's an article stipulating how to deal with it...but with all this extra
reg entries toalter functionality, rather put RAS on a member server and/or
dual NIC a member server instead of a domain controller....
