network problem

hello
i am trying to network my 2 home computers computer 'A' reads computer B'
but computer "B' cannot read computer A.
i get error message stating that i might not have permission to use the
network resource. to contact the administratorof this serverto find out if i
have access permissions..Access denied.
im new at networking so not sure whats going on here .i am the only one who
uses the computers .
im running xp pro on both machines, norton AV 2006.
any help greatly appreciated.

ANONYMOUS

The easiest way to create a Home or small Office Network is to use
Microsoft's Network Wizard. This will automate everything and you won't
have any problems.

i did use microsoft network wizard but still cannot see other computer.

I am having the same problem. My XP home machine can see and use the files
from my XP pro and my Win 98 machines, but the XP pro and Win 98 cannot
access files on the XP home. I have tried the solutions in Help, but no
change. I also set mine up with the wizard. What do we need to do?

Glen

You need to give more info. How are the computers connected, through a LAN
or internet using remote assistance. What firewall are you using? Do you
know Norton AV 2005 has worm protection which will block incoming
connections. You can turn it for while testing and turn it back on after.

my computer is connected through LAN and firewall is off and we are using
Norton server edition. Hope this will clear the matter
