Any clues?

The Win 98 machines cannot use DNS. The 2000 machine by default is probably
not set up to "talk" to Win 98 machines. On the network connection for the
2000 machine, go to the advanced tab of the properties and enable netbios
over TCP/IP.

Hope this helps.

If your XP computer is running SP2, you will have to setup
Windows Firewall to allow access from other computers.

On the Windows XP machine, go to Start -> Control Panel ->
Windows Firewall.
On the Exceptions tab make sure that File and Printer sharing is
checked off.

Also, make sure that any 3rd party firewall programs that may be
running on the XP machine have been configrured to allow access
from within your LAN.

It would also be helpful to know which folders you shared on the
XP machine?
