I'm having a problem getting two computers to share a
cable internet connection (external modem) at the same
time. I have the two computers (and the modem) connected
together through a Hub/Switch but when one computer is
using the internet connection - the other can not.

The computer that isn't able to use the internet gives a
message in IE 6.0 - "detecting proxy settings" while
trying to load a website.

I have been able to connect to the Net on both computers
individually through the network we have set up...but It
just wont work at the same time, and I have gone through
all the Home/Office Network Setups...

Opinions? Feel free to email me...thanks.

Your cable ISP likely only gives out one IP Address. By using a HUB you are
attempting to get 2 addresses from them (1 for each computer). You can pay
them for another IP Address or you can replace your HUB with a router.
