Eric

Hi,

I am using XP Pro, and after installing some software (MSDE) I am having a
strange network problem, with some sites unavailable to my usual login.
However, if I log in as a guest, I can access those sites. . .

I am not using a proxy server, internet connection firewall or anything lse
that I know of. I am using Norton anti-virus which is up to date.

Suggestions?

thanks

Is this related to my trouble? Or is the ? a consequence of different
permission levels? (admin vs guest).
I've never seen non-numeric DNS and the like.

thanks

I am having the same problem, I use a dial up connection,
I have tried to system restore and everything I can only
view https sites under the admin. Guests can view
anything. I hope someone has a solution!

More Followup, if someone can help:

If I create a new administrator account, I get the same problem.

The Guest account works fine.

Certain web sites (microsoft.com) are accessible, certain sites are not
(MSN.com).

There is no program __that I know of__ that is running such as a firewall.

??

thanks for any help.
