Network problem--can't pinpoint culprit

I'm having issues with my network that have me completely stumped, and
asking the question--can it be something in the air??
The issue first popped up while I was using a Netgear wireless B router and
an adapter on my Dell 5100 laptop. Periodically, with no pattern, rhyme or
reason, the network would drop the connection, or more specifically, would
remain "connected" but I had no connectivity with the Internet. I've since
upgraded my laptop to a Dell 6000, with an internal Intell wireless adapter,
and have upgraded the wireless router to a Belkin 54 G. Now, the problem
remains and affects all the laptops that try to connect wirelessly. The only
way to regain the connection, is to disable the wireless connection, and
then re-enter the passcode (Wep security code.)

The issue isn't with the cable modem, the desktop and when I connect my
laptop with a cable to the router, both remain completely unaffected. Also,
I can't believe it's either a bad router or wireless adapter, since both
have been replaced! Also, I've upgraded my cordless telephone to a 5.8 Gh
model...Anything else I might try, short of canavassing the neighbors for
sources of interference?

Thanks!

Next time when this happens, open your Wifi monitoring util and see
whether you are not trying to connec to a neighbourd's SSID.

Any microwave ovens in the area? You might check and make sure you have the
latest firmware for the intel card. Try turning off the WEP to see if it
improves.
