Running XP with a DSL LAN. My main PC is connected to the network
printer via cable through the router. But I have to be connected to
the internet to print, and I can't turn on the ICF firewall. I
shouldn't have to be connected to the internet at anytime to print
from any network PC at any time, yes? What is going on?

1. If the printer is connected to a computer you do not have to be
connected to the Internet, but your LAN have to be set up properly via
the router.
2. The ICF is not necessary because the router comes with its own
firewall. You should find the settings for this firewall in the
router's setup. To test the firewall, visit http://grc.com/default.htm
