Network Printing

I have just installed Windows XP and, now, cannot print
to my HP Laserjet 4M. It's connected to a router on my
small home network. Since I originally used this printer
with my Mac, I have connected an adapter to convert the
serial port to RJ45, which plugs into the router. It
prints fine from my Mac, but I get an error message
shortly after the test page is sent to the queue.It,
also, worked fine when 2000 Server was installed.

I would appreciate any help you may have to offer.
