I have a printer installed directly on a W2K computer and
want to print to it from a laptop running XP.
I can add a printer to the laptop with the Printer Wizard,
and print to it fine: however when I turn the laptop off
and back on at a later time, I get "access denied, unable
to connect."
I can delete the printer, reinstall with the Wizard and I
am in business again. It is my understanding that if W2K
security says that "everyone" can print on the printer,
what is happening to prevent access? I have setup sharing
on this printer.
Also, another desktop running XP will not work with the
printer. When I try to print, I am asked for the User
Name and Password.
It is very confusing. I have tried for 2 weeks to fix
this problem, but apparently, I keep making the same
mistake over and over.
Help, please.
Thanks very much,
Bruce Harris
